Maybe it’s time for some chocolate brownies…

  • 4 oz butter/margarine
  • 7 oz caster sugar
  • 3 oz dark muscavado or similar brown sugar
  • 5 oz dark chocolate
  • 1 tbsp golden syrup
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 oz  plain flour
  • 2tbsps cocoa powder
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  1. Gently melt butter, caster sugar, brown sugar, dark choc, syrup
  2. Let cool slightly then gently and carefully stir eggs into mixture
  3. Carefully fold in the flour
  4. Pour in a greased lined tin and cook 20-25 mins, gas mark 3, 170°C, 325°F until cooked but still gooey
  5. then enjoy – warm with clotted cream maybe!
